Exploration:

  • What shapes should be used for each album?

  • How spaced out do the elements need to be?

  • What colors would express the up and down feelings expressed in each album?

  • How should the layout incorporate the title and logos?

Findings:

  • Some ads feature circles to express melancholy tones while others feature triangles/diamonds to invoke a more upbeat and energetic tone.

  • Each element has been carefully placed to catch the viewer’s attention while avoiding clutter.

  • Orange expresses energy and optimism, while blue expresses melancholy and serenity. The black reflects individuality and mystery.

  • The title is top-center while the logos are above it to emphasize Command Records.
